Make new friends

Section 31 is a Boardgaming social group, that is a great place to make new friends, while playing a variety of boardgames and card games. We meet every Wednesday in the Speekeasy Cafe/Bar from 4pm till 8pm and run events for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Playing games with other people often breaks down the 'awkwardness factor' if someone is feeling shy or nervous about meeting new people, because by playing a multiplayer game, you can breakdown these barriers with the shared common goal of beating the same game. With just this one thing in common, you'll find it easier to talk to your fellow gamers during our events, make long lasting friends and have fun at the same time.

Play great games

We don't like to see old games gathering dust on a shelf at home and often re-discover childhood favourites that are as good now as they were then. Every event has a good mix of traditional games, along with some of the newer products from around the UK and beyond.

We're keen for our members to bring in their own games to our events and would be eager to playtest any games that people are in the process of making.
